LogicalSolutions.net operates one of the most successful data centers in upstate New York. We are looking for one more qualified individual to be part of our growing team. Our data center hosts over 12,000 unique web sites, internet applications, and other internet related servers. We provide support for many technologies including Microsoft Windows/SQL/IIS/Exchange, Unix/Linux, Cold Fusion, PHP/MySQL, VMWare, and others as required by our client base.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Primary responsibility is to support a variety of customer requests through phone or ticket queues. Including site set-ups/modifications, email, DNS, DNR, and other general issue resolutions. This role is mainly a support role. 90% or more of your daily acitivies will be supporting customers.
- Responsible for Internet Server Administration. This includes new server configuration, web site activations, and overall management of web site and application hosting services.
- Provide support for email and exchange servers, backup solutions, DNS and domains.
- Actively help manage ticket queues and answer customer support phone calls to ensure timely resolutions of all issues.
- Handle a large volume of support tickets on a daily basis.
- Provide support to VPS, Dedicated Server, and colocation customers, including server set-up and updating, racking servers in data center, server reboots or other issue resolutions.
- Handling on-call support for evenings and weekends on a regular interval, including working Saturdays approximately once a month.
Required Experience:
- Minimum 3 years experience in Windows and/or Linux server administration.
- Minimum 1 years experience with Microsoft IIS / Cpanel.
- Minimum 1 years experience with Microsoft SQL Server / MySQL.
- Experience taking support phone calls and working with ticket support system.
- Ability to set-up new Windows/Linux servers on new hardware.
- Must have strong communication skills.
- Bachelors degree or similar in computer science suggested
- A strong belief in customer service and a “Do whatever it takes” positive attitude!
Additional experience that would be helpful, though not required:
- Experience in a fast paced customer service/support environment with a hosting company or similar business
- Backup Exec software experience
- Experience in networking technologies
