LogicalSolutions.net operates one of the most successful data centers in upstate New York! We are looking for an experienced CCNA nework engineer to be part of our growing team. Our data center hosts over 12,000 unique web sites, internet applications, and other internet related servers. We provide services for a variety of technologies including Microsoft, Unix/Linux, Cold Fusion, PHP/MySQL, and others as required by our client base.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

• Responsible for the operation and functionality of the data center core network and ensuring 100% uptime. This includes security, network cabling, recommending hardware and software solutions, and monitoring systems.
• Responsible for existing and future switches, routers and firewalls and assisting colocation customers by providing bandwidth to their cabinets and ensuring 100% uptime to the cabinet.
• Will work closely with customer support group and sales department in providing colocation solutions.
• Involvement in power distribution and monitoring by assiting others in the group with management of the power systems as a secondary responsibility.

Required Experience:

• Extensive knowledge of Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls. Should understand Cisco product line very well.
• CCNA Certification CCNP Certiciation required or must be obtained within 1 year of start date.
• Cisco PIX firewall configuration Experience in TCP/IP, Routing, and BGP
• Able to capture and study network data for troubleshooting
• Good understanding of NAT and firewall rules implemenation.
• Demonstrated ability to implement spanning tree protocols.
• Experience implementing and building tracking, analysis, and metric tools for monitoring network performance and health.
• Basic knowledge of power ditribution concepts
• Must have strong communication skills and at least 5 years experience with networking technologies.
• Bachelors degree or similar in computer science prefered.
• A strong belief in customer service and a “Do whatever it takes” positive attitude!

Additional experience that would be helpful, though not required:

• Experience implementing and monitoring power systems.
• Experience in a SAS70 environment or similar with experience documenting and enforcing all security policies.
• SAN management and configuration
